Frankfurt-based company contributes to the "home game for human rights" at EURO 2024

With just a few weeks to go until the 2024 European Championship kicks off, it is eagerly awaited throughout Germany. The European Championship promises not only emotional soccer moments, but also a stage for fairness and integrity.

Certainly, also against the backdrop of the last World Cup in Qatar, where there were numerous well-founded concerns regarding the observance of human and civil rights, the social significance of the major international event is at the forefront.

New standards at the European Championship

UEFA EURO 2024 has set itself the goal of setting new standards for fair working conditions, compliance with human rights, sustainability and due diligence. The young Frankfurt-based company LegalTegrity is making an important contribution to this: LegalTegrity’s software is the low-threshold reporting channel for confidential and anonymous reports.

How does it work? Visitors, employees and others involved in the European Championships always have a modern “fire alarm” in their pocket with the EM app on their mobile phone: safety concerns, harassment, health emergencies or any other form of critical situation or violation of human rights, such as discrimination, can be reported quickly and easily via the EM app. This means that the “home game for human rights” is not just a statement, but a living reality: on the pitch, it is the referee who stands for fairness and tolerance; off the pitch, the complaint procedure ensures that everything is fair and compliant.

What happens with the reports?

Incoming reports are immediately evaluated and processed around the clock by the law firm Rettenmaier Frankfurt Rechtsanwälte Partnerschaftsgesellschaft mbB and forwarded to the necessary authorities. Felix Rettenmaier, Partner, emphasizes: „The handling of incoming reports is an important element for the security and integrity of the European Championship in Germany. We are pleased to be able to play our part in receiving and evaluating potential violations of human rights, ethical standards and other legal infringements and forwarding them to the relevant authorities.”

For fair cooperation

While the referee’s work on the pitch is supported by many other eyes and video evidence, structures are also needed off the pitch to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
